Meerkat, the O'Reilly Network's syndicator, now displays Dublin Core metadata in feeds. (Example, RSS, N3). The new version of the website also allows you to do searches based on Dublin Core metadata. Dave Winer has announced RSS 0.92 a forwards-compatible modification to RSS 0.91 to support new software from UserLand called "My.UserLand On the Desktop".
RSS 0.92 makes the language element optional and introduces some new elements:
cloud describes a system for subscribing to updates of the RSS file
enclosure describes a large external file to be sent with the RSS file

At long last and with much rejoicing, RSS 1.0 is finally released. The vote passed unanimously with 9 members of the WG (and one non-member) voting. Strangely enough, the message that announced the results of the vote was exactly message 1300. It was followed by a message from Rael Dornfest, the WG Chair, recapping the 4-month process that it took the spec to finally be published.

Dave Beckett has announced a demonstration (source) of his RDF::RSS module. I believe this is the first public demonstration of a RSS file being processed by an RDF parser. Neat!2000-11-12
